Automation, Instrumentation & Robotics
The Automation, Instrumentation and Robotics line focuses on the development and application of advanced control strategies, and the design of sensors and actuators, to improve the performance of production processes and measurement systems for industrial and scientific purposes. The academics of this line use their research to combine the mathematical foundations of signal processing, estimation, modeling, and control, with the physical principles that govern electronic, biological, chemical, mechanical, and astronomical processes and systems, among other natural processes of engineering. In the research and development of advanced sensors and actuators, they also combine precision instrumentation, control schemes for complex systems, perception, decisions, automation algorithms, and the design of robotic systems.
